Reviews
La Perigourdine
Review written by Julie (Saint Paul, USA)
My husband and I stayed at "La Perigourdine" during the month of September, 2013. It is a beautiful old house (15-18th century) in the center of a small village near the Dordogne River. The house sits in the shadow of a 12th century church and it's bells ring the hours during the day. You can almost imagine what life was like in medieval times.
The owners, Nelly and Jean, are most helpful and kind. They gave us suggestions of places to go and good restaurants in the area. Nelly's love for this house, which belonged to her grandfather, is very apparent. Beautifully furnished with comfortable furniture and antiques, it is meticulously clean.
This area of the Dordogne is exceptionally interesting. There are castles to visit, prehistoric caves to explore, medieval towns and a superb system of hiking trails to get you into the forests and villages. We can't wait to return!
